Born and raised in the heart of the Calypso world, Trinidad, where friends and neighbours not only dance, but live everything and anything Calypso. Mojah is equally proud to be a Canadian as he is of his roots. He moved to Canada February 1972. Like a true Trinidadian, Mojah's heart beats in sync with the driving pulse of Calypso rhythms. Like a true Canadian, Mojah's sound is uncompromisingly multicultural.

Lord Nelson, Mojah's uncle, and a celebrated Calypso artist in Trinidad, was a powerful early influence on him from a young age. Given his musical heritage, it is no wonder Mojah has been devoted to music from childhood.

He is a seasoned performer and has shared the stage with musicians such as Gordie Johnson, Lorraine Segato, Jeff Martin, and Chris Robinson.

Mojah's brand of hypnotherapeutic 'riddim' guitar is unmistakeable. His style has influenced musicians across Canada, the US, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Mojah has travelled the world performing. He has toured Canada many times over, from clubs, to arenas, to every festival imaginable. His charisma and all-embracing nature on and off the stage has won him a fan following from the Yukon to the Maritimes.

Mojah has left his mark on the Canadian reggae scene. He is a founding member of Truths and Rights and other bands such as Compass and V, has performed with countless other artists, and is an accomplished songwriter - sharing writing credits on some Big Sugar recordings.

V, formed in the early 80's, featured Mojah along with Lorraine Segato, of Mama Quilla 2, and Billy Bryans. Original Big Sugar bassist, Terry Wilkins, would eventually be added. V was an extremely popular band on the Toronto club scene and was written up frequently by the Toronto entertainment media. Many fans lamented the break-up of the band after only a few years. Segato and Bryans formed a band to fulfill remaining commitments. That band would become The Parachute Club.
